5 Reasons Why You Should Buy A Petrol Remote Control Car And Not A Nitro Remote Control Car
Among the popular choices of remote control cars, racing fans prefer either nitro cars or petrol cars. Both these cars run on fuel rather than batteries and hence, they give a masculine touch to remote control races. It is better to choose petrol remote control cars over nitro cars for the following reasons:
1. Smaller Size
Petrol cars are available in the scale of 1:5 while you will get nitro cars in the range of 1:10. A petrol RC car is only slightly expensive than a nitro RC car and some advanced nitro powered remote control cars are costlier. You won't feel the massive power if you see the size of nitro RC cars. You can threaten your opponents even before racing with a huge petrol car.
2. Expensive Fuel
Nitro fuel is expensive than petrol fuel. You can easily buy petrol from your nearby gas station and normal two stroke engine oil is to be mixed with petrol to power petrol RC cars. In the case of nitro cars, you have to spend a lot of money every time for the nitro fuel and oil.
3. Lower Engine Power
Even though some nitro RC cars can achieve top speeds, the power of the engine will be much lesser because of the glow plug arrangement. A simple spark plug mechanism is sufficient to burn the fuel and hence, petrol remote control cars have lots of power. Further, nitro car engines will wear away easily while petrol car engines can last for several years.
4. Difficult To Tune
Tuning of nitro powered remote control cars is difficult unless you know everything about your car. Even the ready to run models are difficult to tune. With improper tuning, these cars will be damaged heavily in racing conditions. Petrol remote control cars on the other hand are very easy to tune. Even beginner racers can achieve top speeds and higher performance using their petrol cars. Many pre-tuned petrol cars can be readily used for racing.
5. Difficult To Maintain
Overheating and unburned oil that coat chassis can easily damage the engine of nitro remote control cars. Cleaning of air filter, replacing worn out parts, after run lubrication and glow plug replacement are all required to maintain nitro cars. After using 2-8 gallons of fuel, nitro motors must be replaced. These are expensive and add to maintenance overhead in the case of nitro cars. When you have petrol remote control cars, cleaning and replacement is very simple and inexpensive.
